Clinical Sports & Remedial Massage

Clinical Sports and Remedial Massage is one of the most complex massages to learn as a therapist. It is commonly used for professional and amateur athletes and activity enthusiasts. It is used before training/events, during exercise, and/or after exercise. It can quickly warm muscles for action, improve performance, prevent injuries, strengthen and stretch muscles, help flexibility, reduce muscular aches and pains, and aid recovery of muscular fatigue and the quick removal of toxins after activity.

Treatment time will depend on the range of techniques used, and the areas of the body to be treated. If appropriate following consultation, TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation), EMS (Electro Muscular Stimulation), cupping, a theragun massage tool, trigger point balls, hot and cold applicators, body support wraps, kinesiology tape (K-tape), stretches, movement restraints and far infrared pain relief patches may be used. Steve may use his hands, elbows, knuckles, and forearms in muscular release techniques which may be deep to reach fibrous adhesions, tendons, deep muscles and scar tissue, and may kneel on you or the couch to draw you into certain positions to stretch and mobilise the joints, as well as using various massage therapy tools.

If you have an injury, muscular condition or pain that requires a longer consultation than the free 10 minute consultation, please book in for a 30 minute consultation at £25 - it is cheaper than the massage price for 30 minutes. This is not required for all clients as it depends on your physical state.
